The Salon

The face behind Project Cosmetology is owner and hairstylist Roxanne “Rox” Rodes. She opened her salon in 2008 at the age of 25. Her new high-end salon is located close to where her journey originally began.

Born in Amsterdam with strong English roots, Rox was inspired by international beauty trends. At a time when spray tanning was already popular in the UK, US, and Australia, it was still relatively unknown in the Netherlands.

After extensive research, Rox partnered with BeauBronz, a London-based brand founded by spray-tan expert Abigail Oleck. This collaboration marked the official beginning of Project Cosmetology.

Statement from Rox

Opening the salon has been both exciting and rewarding. Initially, adding hairstyling and beauty treatments was challenging, but I grew to love the industry. I became more passionate about it than ever before and realised that I was exactly where I wanted to be.

Running a business means taking risks and making sacrifices. Throughout this journey, I have learnt a great deal — about the industry and about myself.

Would I do it all again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat.
